Hi...
Again, a friend has convinced me to boost my lude (bastwardd)
Now, im correct in saying i could boost it, with standard internals at 7PSI safely? until i can afford sleeving / pistons/rods????
If so, what else is involved? Turbo, manifold, injectors, front mount and other bits??

I ran 8psi with lots of timing for torque. Suspected over 340hp and lasted 8 days. Now running 4psi on another engine and seems to prefere it tbh!

I think you'd need a good quality waste gate to stop the boost creep

Personally I would say 6 psi max for any chance of reliability
A good quality wastegate with a 4psi spring and a good boost controller such as apexi avcr to accurately control boost creep, then of course an ecu such as Hondata s300
As I always say with turbo conversions, skimp and you'll be looking at an engine build before you know it.

The sleeving of the bottom end is whats going to cost me the most on this build!

I like Newkid's idea, I thought about turbo/supercharging my spare engine but as it's a high compression N/A engine already I think long term reliability will be an issue..
..but of course the Brian Crower kit is too damn expensive.

There was a guy on the atr forum selling a freshly build engine for turbo, IMO that's the only way I'd do it due to the cost.
Na may be reliable but the more power you want the less drive able they become and it's gotta be big money to hit but power like a turbo will

Surely a supercharger is less likely to kill a N/A engine?

Superchargers sound gay as hell lol. I could N/A it and get 240 BHP and that would be nice as hell around town where i live on an LSD box. Ive got the A8 intake, Type S cams coming as well + the full stainless system with de-cat. Wanting to get a new clutch soon, so if i stay N/A ill get a new flywheel as well (lighter one) with the clutch and get the LSD box to go on as well!
Decisions.....

Unless you have £5K or more to plough into it I'd forget about any of these things
