Cleaning Vtec Solenoid?
How do i go about cleaning this??

Reason i ask is out of the blue my car has started hitting a limiter at 6300revs in second gear.

My car is a 2.2 UKDM BB1 w/ 4WS.

Before i've never hit the limiter before this, but the redline is at 7 which is when it normally hits.... but lately out the blue this has started happening. I haven't hit vtec in months so this is the first time i've done it in awhile. But i never have rememebr the limiter hitting so early.

I'll get a video up... i'll get the misses to film it.

But i figured i could clean the solenoid incase that was a fix.

Before going any further, check the oil level of the car and ensure the coolant is topped up. I know VTEC isn't engaged unless levels are correct, not sure if it'll limit the engine as well but I wouldn't be surprised.

Since you are under the bonnet, im sure you will anyway, check the oil again. If you have a small leak or have been giving it the beans your oil level could have dropped enough. As Jay said, fluid levels first, then check VTEC solenoid ;)

Here is a how to I found on the net, we could use an LG one if you wwant to make one while you are at it ;)
