Hi guys doing oil change on my bb4 and havent got a clue what type of oil to put in. Recommended from 0w/40 to 5w/40 and 10w/40 but these recommendations arent for a jap imoport. What would be the best oil to use in a k reg jdm h22a??

P.s i know this is a silly question because it will run on all 3 but just wnt the best for my motor. :D

Cheers craig.

i was reccomended to go 5w/40 but have since read a lot about people having issues with older engines doing this so stay 10w/40 ;)
just get a real good one like Millars ;)

I don't think it's a silly question - I put the thinnest oil recommended at the time into my JDM, and it seems to lose oil a lot faster than before :?

So 10w/40 is my best option im guessing? What is the advantages if there is any of using thinner oil like 0w/40?
Im guna get oil from halfords so castrol or mobile 1?? Or is that sh** for r engines? #tradecard lol.
Thanks for comments and input guys. :D

I've used Castrol Magnatec 10W-40 Semi Synth for the last 5 years without a problem. :ugeek:

I used to put mobil 1 0w40 in my bb4,
Runs fine on it.But with close 180000 miles on her now,i was needing to top up every 3000miles or so.
Trying 5w40 this year, see how that goes.
Any of the grades you mentioned will be fine. The recommended grade is 10w30, but not very common to get hold of in uk.
