Polishing the letters after dipping is a royal pain in the arse, and there's too much risk of sanding the dip. It can't be touched up if you make a mistake, it would have to be completely stripped again, painted, and dipped again.

It will obviously have a few coats of lacquer on, so you would have to sand thru that and then the dip. It can be done, but means being EPICALLY carefully, and like I said...it you damage the dip it can't be touched up.

Polished letters every time. :geek:

Mask around the letters and use a Dremel polishing head.
With the cover being off the car, it'll be easy.

You only have to mask around the outside of them. No need to mask inbetween the letters.

Or shave the letters off the rocker cover and spark plug cover to give a completely smooth canvas for the dip. :)

Shame you had already sent it as I have a shaved rocker cover here.

I dont thing the polished letters takes away from the films effect but it would be a stronger effect if it was over the letters or completely smooth.
