I have an problem, i had h22a5 engine and it was chiped, and i changed engine to h22a (jdm) and i didnt rechip it and i have problem, on h22a5 when vtec kicks in it felt like a rocket but now on this h22a when vtec kicks in i dont realy feel much power :( what could be a problem? Maybe i just need to rechip it?

Because sound changes when vtec goes on but it dont work like previous engine :(

Ecu is chiped with p28, injectors are 345cc , i think stock distrubutor

Vtec kicks in at 4500 rpm same like previous engine , maybe difference is that the mehanics conected ecu to OBC2 (5gens) cause i have wires for OBC1 (4gen) and could it cause that problem?

I have no idea what year h22a is, but it was from 4gen

Dunno if i you can understand me :D

its probably becuase no chip.

injectors and dizzy shouldnt make a difference if you only swapped the engine.

plus i know that engine and i know its got it where it counts.

that engine was originally in a J reg 4th gen and then i put it in my 5th gen.

maybe you should change the spark plugs,

i had iridium in them, check the gaps are right

i thought if you use a jdm h22a you need the p13 ecu as the motor has a knock sensor so maybe vtec isnt coming on at all :?

no, you need the knock sensor if you use the jdm ecu otherwise the jdm engine will plug into the edm plugs and that sensor is off.

no vtec? i thought he said he has it. he can hear it.

can you rev above 6500? if so then you got vtec crossover.

It might not actually be a problem - my understanding is that if things are setup right, your crossover should be fairly smooth. You say you hear it, does the car pull harder?

Maybe just a bit, with h22a5 it was like second breath, it was pulling much better

So maybe i need to rechip it since engine is different?
