I've noticed the smell of petrol over the past few days, so I've just had a look under the car and the fuel pipe has small leak :(

It's behind the rear passenger wheel and has a plastic cover over the pipe, its not dripping...just wet and its not leaving any puddles on my drive, I've also not noticed any drop in mpg.

Can it be replaced? If so...how difficult is it?

Or should I be saying R.I.P to the lude? :|

If it's not dripping then I'd guess the leak is so small anything falling out of it is just evaporating straight away.
If you can't replace the whole pipe you may be able to cut out the split bit and put a fresh bit of pipe in its place?

I have heard that putting sugar in a fuel tank stops leaks...

NB: I am joking, DO NOT do this!!

No, its a narrow pipe that looks like it comes from the fuel tank.

Sounds similar to what happened on my mum's Accord, was the return from the engine to the tank for unburnt fuel. My local garage just removed the corroded section and put in a replacement pieces of high pressure rubber pipe and some couplings. Total fix was ~60 quid :)

Is the pipe one long pipe from front to back, or is it in sections?
