Where does this cooling hose go?

Decided to get some Gates hoses from America via Amazon ... Engine-Valve and Valve-Heater pair cost £27 all in (inc a deposit for possible import taxes), which is good enough for me. I'll be as happy with Gates products as I will with Mr H's at £57, if not more so.

Meantime, after seeing it in the list of available hoses, I can't for the life of me see where this "Bypass Hose" goes.

Anyone clarify?

Part Number Gates 18701.

It doesn't connect to the oil cooler does it?

Looks simular, but missing a 90 degree bend according to this...

Is that a 'bypass hose' to take the heater matrix out of the circuit?

No idea! I can't see any hoses that look like that in any of the Lings diagrams.

I'd have thought a heater bypass (especially seeing as it's called a "bypass hose"), but I can't see a bypass circuit. Mine just looks like this under the bonnet ... with the two inlet hoses (with the valve in-between) being the ones I've ordered ...

Looks like the culprit is to be found on the H23 ...

The 1990 Accord 2.2 (F22 engine?) looks like it also has this hose, running at the back of the stat housing ...

So ... as far as I can see (without going out and looking under the bonnet), this hose has nothing to do with the H22a. :)
