Mystery oil leak it ??
its all over the right underside of the car.....The left side is dry.
right side is soaked in the stuff from just infront of cat to half way down the car.
cant get under it as its too low...getting it over my neighbours pit tomorrow.

Any ideas...only noticed the smell of oil as i pulled up and parked after a 90 mile drive around London.
Car was perfect on the way there. noticed oil on the path this morning as it was dark when i got home,
Oil filter is tight ...block is dry.
looking under the car i just cant see where it would be coming from.

BoLL**kS

Any ideas, where it might be coming from ??
got two long journeys wed and thurs...so only tomorrow to fix it.

you either drove through a puddle of oil  or maybe your sump plug is loose or your sump gasket on righthand side :?:

oil cooler o ring is the most likely culprit
you can get a new oring from Honda for around £4-£5 if i remember right - i had a few goes at changing this myself and got covered in oil from head to toe - but its an easy job for a garage to do up on the ramps - i think i was charged £30 labour to do mine. :)

edit - ive just reread your post and you say the block is dry :? must be coming from cam end cap and running down between the gearbox and block - does that sound right...

Rear crank seal could be around that area, no?

Just got to find the highest point where there's oil and take it from there. Sump bolt shouldn't leak until it's almost loose enough to fall out - sump gasket is the next one up (assuming you've not whacked the sump itself and got a split in it).

When you say the Right side, do you mean the driver side?

My money's on the sump gasket - or sump deformed, again from it getting a whack.

(Oil cooler O ring ... my local mechanic replaced mine with a rubber seal off an old oil filter as a temporary measure til I got a proper O ring ... two years later it's still dry as a bone! :))

If you mean right side standing in front of the car, my money is on the balancer shaft oil seal. When that goes you can dump almost all your oil in seconds :(
