Looking at a project literally going got try and do it within a couple of long hard days work.
How easy would a 2.0 4th gen non vtec with a 2.2 vtec swap be? And complications I would come across? Would it literally just sit straight in etc? As much information as possible please guys.

I can imagine it'll be a straight swap, providing you have the donor car to make sure you have all the bits you need.
Would guess the ECU and loom would need to be changed also.

Yeah that's what I was expecting. Yeah I'm thinking about using my 2.2 4th gen and dropping it into another car. Just wondered how long it would take really and if there was anything I'd really need to be worried about as I use it as my daily run about car.

How long am I looking at doing it? Physically possible within a day or two with two people on it?
Any big complications guys?

Any major complications? I'm more thinking on the lines mine is 4ws and I don't know if that one is?! I'm a total novice never done it but would be doing it with my 2 mates who are mechanics.

I doubt you'd even have to swap the loom, just add a cable for the vtec and knock sensor if it has one (JDM H22).

i done my swap in a day bud
and it was my very first engine swap aswell
just remember and LABEL EVERYTHING !!!
as i didnt and has to sit and figure out what plugs went were !
its pretty much a straight swap but the only complication i had was vtec not engaging after the swap
i also went from a 2.0 to a 2.2, ive since then took the engine back out to do my engine bay so never got to the bottom of it.. i was thinking it might be wiring issues or my ecu
apart from that its an absolute piece of cake
just make sure and label all the wires !

Why was your vtec not working? Did you find out what was wrong with it in the end incase I have the same problem?
