New Engine mountings - better but not perfect!

Hi everyone from smoggy Malaysia. Have just fitted 3 new engine mounts to my 1983 2.2 VTEC Prelude. The front one was apparently still ok but the left, right and back ones are all new.
However, much to my frustration, I can still feel a vibration (ok, not huge but irritating all the same) through the steering column and through the bottom of the drivers seat.
It's only at idle and obviously I can feel at traffic lights etc. When I'm driving along it is not apparent but I just needed the opinion of you guys regarding this issue.
Even after fitting the mounts should I be feeling this vibration at idle? (BTW, as I'm in Malaysia, the air-con is on all the time but my mechanic tells me the compressor is working fine)
Your thoughts, experiences and advice would be most welcome. Thanks guys.

Hi. I just had all mine replaced too with Hardrace uprated oem mounts. Did the garage torque the mounts in the sequence stated in the workshop manual? This is critical aparently.

Hi mate - to be honest I have no idea and I know for a fact that he doesn't have the manual. Sorry to bother you but do you know the sequence or is there a link on site which tells me.
Maybe I could then forward it to him and see if he followed the procedure.
Thanks for the info.

Its rather complicated tbh. Its both the brackets bolts and the mounts in some numbered 13 sequence. The through bolts seem to be tightened last though IIRC.

Section 5-27 in the manual. Maybe someone can put a link in here to it online. ..

This is for a 93 and not 83 model yes?

the car will vibrate a litte with new ones till they breakin a bit I would have thought. Brand new rubber doesnt have much give in it.
Or you could be finding another issue present itelf now the engine is cradled correctly? EGR valve a bit sticky or something?

To h10ndr - correct. It's a 93 (sorry, I did write 83). I hope someone will be able to put up a link for the torquing sequence as I'm not exactly what you'd call qualified to even understand what you wrote! Appreciate your reply anyway.
To lewd lude lover - I hear what you're saying and perhaps it makes some sense but when I got my Del Sol fitted with new engine mounts they were perfect from the first minute they were in. Appreciate your thinking on the cradle and EGR valve.
Actually, I spoke to my mechanic earlier this afternoon after seeing h10ndr's comments about the torque procedure. I was a little surprised when he told me that he didn't torque them because his torque wrench couldn't fit.
Should I be worried about this apparent non-spec fit he's done? Could this be the root of the problem?
Again, I appreciate any insights or opinions. Thanks, Simon.

Some of the bolts are a right PITA to get the torque wrench on, but it can be done.
I'm really surprised the front one was ok but the other 3 were knackered - it's always the other way round IMHO, but I guess it's possible your front one just wasn't that old anyway?
The service manuals are linked up in the wiki-lude section (see the top menu bar) and then it's in the engine section within the manual.
