UKDM 4th gen bb2 speed restricted?

As in the title. Been on my mates private road today, and there is no doubt that my car is restricted to 112mph. This this normal for the ukdm model? Brought a new ecu not long ago from ludegeneration and its the same as the last.

Is this normal? And if it has been restricted how do I get it unrestricted?

Help needed here!

I am wondering if the car has been in a rebuild after being written off because when I type my plate in to value the car, it comes up as a 2.2 VTEC manuel. Tried several and they all say the same thing!

Could I therefore have the wrong ecu in? Not debating the fact it is a 2.3 but I find this strange. When I brought the car it didn't come with a full service history....Didn't know any better at the time.

The ecu I am running is 2.3i auto ukdm. Could I get a jdm one and try it to see if this is a option, or can you not do that?

Could my car of been jdm but now ukdm?

Are ukdm ecu for the 2.3i restricted?

Probably talking a load off woffle, but im puzzled here!

Whats the best way to derestrict it? Also if this is not the case, what do I do to get the cars true performance out of it?

Cheers Peachy -and yes I know sweet fa about the ludes setup so some advice would be good!

look for a cheap h22 manual and then swap all your bits over is what i would do personally

UKDM 2.3's were deffo not restricted man. That ECU you have would allow mine beyond 112mph on that private road you mentioned.

What is your speedo reading when it feels restricted? It should be sitting around 120mph on the clock for a JDM 112mph limiter.

Gets to 100mph and if feels like there is no more acceleration, and after a bit of work will top out at about 112mph.

Yes indigolemon I think your right. Think the ecu is fine-im sure of it. Something else must be behind this but im not sure what.
When I first brought the lude it had a 2.0l ecu in which is why I was wondering about the cars history tbf? I got 125mph out of her with that ecu. It just does not make sense!

Don't know what else to do now

Yes I don't think the ecu is the problem. Had a 2.0l ecu in the lude when I brought it and I could get 125mph out of it.
Could I perhaps have a 2litre lude not the 2.3 litre it is ment to be? How can you tell? [components?]

I know that sounds stupid, but like I have said before I wonder weather my lude has been rebuilt after an accident in the past perhaps? [insurance writeoff]

What is it registered as on the V5C mate?

I'd check the code stamped on your engine, the engine code on your VIN plate, and the engine number on your V5C. They should all tally up hopefully :)

Yeah, check the code stamped on the engine. If it starts "H23" you're definitely a 2.3.
