It should be. The H22a2 and H22a5 have the same part number according to Lings. The H22a shouldn't be much different to the H22a2.

What is broken on your one? I need to swap the VTEC solenoid pressure switch from an H22a2 (my spare engine) to my H22a.

Yes, I've swapped between the two before, just had to swap the pressure switch as Merlin mentioned.

Wikid could help fix one annoying problem. My vtec will work sumtimes and it will hit fake limiter other times. Oil is full, solenoid filter is clean. Electrical problem or some how faulty?
Only other thing i can think of is my tri-y is releasing to much heat and heating metal induction piping and inlet manifold badly so the engine is running on extremely hot air? Would this cause limp mode reasoning being vtec usually works when engine hasnt been used for long periods of time or under alot of abuse and stop start conditions! Sorry if this sounds dumb. Lol

Limp mode is the car being electronically limited to 3000rpm by the ECU. What you are describing is the 6,000rpm limit when VTEC doesn't engage, ie it isn't hitting VTEC for some reason.

Does the engine management light come on at all?

The first thing the service manual says to do when there is a suspected fault with the VTEC solenoid is to reset the ECU (take clock/radio 10a fuse out of the engine bay fuse box for 10 seconds and replace).

Do you think hot air and a boiling jot inlet could cause this?

Heat from an exhaust stopping VTEC from engaging? I would think that is unlikely. Many have aftermarket exhaust manifolds, and a few with Tri-y's.
