Upgrade info for H22

Post by claymore68 » Tue Jul 23, 2013 11:04 pm

This is an old topic from me regarding upgrading my 2ltr with a JDM H22. The unit that Craig_jdm has will work with my gearbox but will need new flywheel and dizzy. Im guessing that new clutch will be a good idea and possibly replacing my ecu in order for the vtec to operate.
Would anyone have an idea as to potential cost for this and is there anything else the swap will require.
Ive got a garage that will do the swap but the more info I have will make the swap easier and cheaper.
Cheers

I know the vtec wiring is there on the f22 but with the f20 I'm not so sure..

brakes from the 2.2 might be a good idea, unless they are the same

Yep like lude dude said, go for 2.2 brakes as they are bigger on the front (rears are the same) I'm pretty sure you would have to swap hubs over too to do this.

Thanks guys .
Thing is Im trying to look at the cost of getting the 2.2 Vtec installed on a budget approx £500 and dont think i can manage it. The engine will probably need timing belt as well, and even looking at the rough costs Nick suggested its getting tight. Just dont know what to do??

Yeh pretty much just a swap out of the 2 ltr . Don't know mileage of the vtec so I reckon it will need timing belt
