100mph in 3rd?

i wish i had taken the box code of my 2.3i gen4 now because it may have been auto but the ratio's were extremely long and the box i got now on the 2.2 manuel doesn't even come close. that was one lovley box.

ok

may have all the bottom end grunt but nowhere near the top end

just get there a lot faster

but who uses the top end anyway? shame you cant just have a tall 5th gear

i am sure one of these on here with enough expertize will start stripping out all the gears from all the boxes and try as a project to make that happen

been having a look, the type r box is best for low,close ratios, unfortunatly the 5th is also low, so if 5th could be changed then hey perfect box. the h22 should have had 6 gears to get the best from the vtec.

anyone got any old gear clusters laying around

while we are on type r boxes, after looking at the ratios by 80mph you would be shifting into 4th, is this prehaps too close considering the lude will go 0-60 in under 7 seconds (that would be nearly 4 shifts in the type r box

in the auto - motorway 70mph is 3200 rpm which is low compared to the manuals and 88mph @ 4000rpm
