Service questions...

Post by B00mer » Tue Aug 06, 2013 7:31 pm

Hey, i've been searching prelude forums for some answers to help me get some bits together for my 2nd Gen's service.

The amount of gearbox oil, I have been told 3.7l and read 6l for the Auto box, but i can't find a definitive answer.

Engine oil, 5W-40 Full Syn or 10W-40 Fully Syn are either fine?

Spark plugs would NGK-R Platinum plugs be ok?

Thanks for any help,

B00m

Gearbox oil seems a bit odd. The 3rd and 4th gens need 2l for the manual box.

yeah 6l is way too much even if you factor in the fluid in the torque converter

You need to download the 3g accord service manual :)

I just checked and its 6l at assembly or 3l at oil change :)

Cheers mate, yes it is indeed 3L i've had this confirmed.

The alternator belt for the 2nd Gens has also been discontinued (31110-PA6-003) so im on the look for an alternative :(

It shouldn't be too hard, what kind of belt is it? V-belt? Ribbed? Etc then just a case of measuring it :)

Strange same seller, the only thing i would point out is the parts number i have been given is listed on my link.

But your engine code is correct on yours

Sod it £3 extra won't break the bank

EDIT:

Thank you for your help Front ;)
