I removed mine, derusted and then sound deadened and put back on.
They are now rattle free and silent when hit. 8-)

I removed mine, de-rusted (not that there was much), sprayed with silver VHT paint and put back on securely.
They never get hit because they are about two feet away from the ground. :lol:

Btw, if you guys want to remove it just to save weight, you'll be very disappointed. It's made of wafer thin aluminium.
You'd save more weight by getting your hair cut............or laying off the burgers for a day. :twisted:

Thread revivial! Didn't see the point in making a whole new one.

So it's ok to remove these heatshields? Mine I think are rattling and are annoying me!

Ratty - You got an pics of yours with the sound deadning? I may do that, take em off and spray em.
