Hi All,
Ive been looking for an LSD box for my car. I dont mind if it needs a rebuild etc as i was going to get it done anyway.
Ive found one that 5th and reverse have "failed on" aparently, but i was wondering wether i can salvage my box for parts or no?

You probably can but it's having the right tools and know how, and then weighing up if it's really worth it. What are you looking at? IIRC there's quite a choice including the JDM Accord boxes.

You can take a good box and use the bits to fix the LSD one but worn parts wear different on every box so what will work in one will not always work in another.
New syncros are very expensive but so is rebuilding a box and having it fitted all to find out it still screwed!

if you wanna rebuild it be prepared for up to £1200. For example one bearing cost between 35 and 60 quid. syncro sets are around £200 each. But I can say it's worth every penny
You will not need any extra expensive tools. set of sockets and dynamometric wrench plus one good ball bearing puller and you will be allright.
And all needed info you will find in manual. There is everything step by step from removing to reinstaling box from/to the car. Read it twice and then decide are you enough good with it.
