H22a8 head on h22a5 bottom end?

Pretty much what the title says, would a complete h22a8 head run on my h22a5 bottom end? Thanks.

Yes. It is the same head (P13) but with a few differences in internal parts.

Okay thanks, so it would fit with no problems and then just run etc. and could I use my ecu?

It will fit with no problems. Are you using the a8 cams as well?

I haven't bought the engine yet just an idea atm but thought it would be one of the easiest ways to make more power lol and no why would that be a problem?

^^ Yup.

The a5 and a8 heads are identical as they are both P13 heads. The differences are that the a8 has the same cams found in the ATR and Prelude type-S, and the a8 also uses sprung lost motion assemblies where as the a5 uses hydraulic ones.

Okay cheers just found out it does come with cams and dizzy and all that still attached, could I still use my mani and down pipe and all that jazz?

Yes you can.

You could save swapping the entire head by buying something like this though:

That looks good but I wouldn't want to stitch the other guy with the engine up (it's someone on here) and he said the valves would need looking at and might not be up to much and I don't know if I'd have the money for that lol
