Roughly how much should i be paying for a cambelt change on my BB9??
Ive had the car 3 years now and its on 94k, the guy i bought it from "thinks" the cambelt was done at about 60k
So rather than risk it too much longer, i am gonna look into having it done
Thing is i dont know what kinda work is required or how much a garage should charge
So if someone could help that'd be great, saves me getting bummed by some garage for the job
Cheers

£40 for the timing belt
£20 for the balancer belt
Do you want to replace the timing belt auto tensioner?
Do you want to change the water pump?
Labour will be a round £200 - £250 I would have thought

HONDA OEM
Auto tensioner - Actually I don't think the 2.0 uses one, I cant find it on Lings or in the service manual

.
Water pump - £120

Ok thanks
so if i get quoted around the £500ish mark for the lot, that'd be a fair price??

Hopefully it would be closer to £400

Good time to check/replace cam seals and balance shaft seal...and pully's as a measure of preventative maintenance

Quoting myself from a thread in April....
For a
BB8 5G my local Honda garage charge £342.68 inc Parts, Labour VAT and everything. This is for TIming Belt, Balance Belt & Auto Tensioner.
Breaks down as:
Belt 1 - £32.00
Belt 2 - £32.00
Tensioner - £101.57
Labour - £120.00
VAT - £57.11
My local specialist wasn't all that different. Money depending, you may also wish to look at a couple of other bits while at it....
You may not thank me for this - might just be added complication..

Good luck
Edit: Merlin's comments probably more relevant.

That is a good price

Last time I got a Honda dealer to do my timing belt it was under the old Honda Happiness scheme.

It is. But I wasn't that sure about them, and instead paid PerformanceTek slightly more!
