Making one out of fibre glass is excatly the same issue as making a CF one.

It needs to be made from something which can bridge a large gap without needing support such as wood or metal

could you not tape the whole area up then lay the mat over it to make the mould bit like they do when doing a boot install?

Yeah maybe, I'm thinking it would be best to do it with sheet ali TBH. Can cut and bend it however is needed then
