No probs, I've just battled with the type s on my drive and won! The cat is clearly origional the way those nuts were rusted on ( I was told it was replaced on last mot!!).

Here's some pics:

There's no difference in flange orientation and ratty has confirmed this to. The only difference is the front flange has less angle on the type s, this will be taken out by the flexi joint. The lenght is pretty much the same overall considering the angle.

Now I need to find out if all 5g cats have this kind of angle? I've used a 4g cat as my dummy.

Right iv measure the Type S cat. It's 25.75cm end to end. The car flanges at each end look the same as above but I can't tell if they are identical or at a slight angle. I doubt Honda would make them different.
It's it should fit really?

Beat me to it.

Perhaps @Merlin might know the size of the cat on the A8, if it's different at all. I still don't know 100% :oops:

I haven't bothered with the bungs because;

A) there's no cat to over heat anymore
B) you will never get the old one out!
C) you just earth the wire to stop warning light coming on
D) only a rare few will want a lambda boss for air/fuel gauge.

I'll fit this one to mine tomorrow, just left my bolts in work :-(

Yea fit it tomorrow. So where's the main o2 sensor on the s. I assume just before the cat. I keep getting atts errors from the o2 sensor after exhaust is up to temp.
Just need to fit my new sensor.

O2 sensor should be between the flexi and the cat.

Yeah the lambda sensor is just before the cat, in the last straight off the down pipe. Strange that's flagging up atts tho, it's usually an engine warning light I thought.
