Epiphones are pretty good. I have both a Gibson Thunderbird and an Epi T-Bird Pro. Aside from the pickups, there's actually not that much between the two. I also have an Epi Explorer bass, which is silly but top-notch quality.
Gothic Vs - seem to be a few on the Bay at the moment, not going for nearly as much as they should. The serial number on the back of the headstock will give you a month/year build date, as well as the factory where it was made ...
