Hey Dan,

Sorry, hadn't noticed. I ask people to PM me if they make a payment but posting in here gets me attention too. I'll get it sent tomorrow. :D

Cheers,

Excellent! There are two others who should receive them today as well, let me know they arrive safely guys.

And please give some feedback in here once you've fitted them! :D

Hi, got round to fitting this at the weekend and whilst the limiter seems removed the vtec still comes in at 5.5k?

Hi Dan, glad you got it fitted. The factory VTEC changeover is actually 5,200rpm and the Spoon map only lowers this slightly to 5,000rpm. It's hardly noticable and with the accuracy of 20 year old speedos now it's hard to tell, but trust me it's lowered and done inline with maximising the fuel map. I don't sell the crap on ebay where people lower VTEC to something ridiculous, which does the engine no favours and will loose you power and torque.

That all said, how does it drive now across the power band? Most have said that the car idles smoother too. :D

The idle is definitely smoother. This is surely one of the cheapest ways to squeeze some more ponies without any sacrifice.

Cheers,
Daniel

Rob..

As a very happy customer with a Spoon v2 copy- are the v1 chips available again yet?

I'm keen to have a few more revs to use at the top end & will be able to do a direct comparison

Do these chips ever die? A friend of mine had a Spoon V2 chip and he had to get a new ECU after a while as apparently his chip had packed up...?

Hey guys.

@chrismc: Yes the V1 are available as always, I just don't have it dyno'd by anyone yet. A couple have bought them for the raised limit too, but havn't a clue of the differences between them and which makes better power and where in the rev range. If you want one, it's the usual payment and PM. Plus knock £2 off for the holder, as you already have one fitted.

@bb1boy: ??? Shouldn't 'die' no. Who's the friend? Someone on here I assume? If their chip had died he should get in contact with me and I can check if the chip has gone faulty in anyway. Seems a bit weird he just went and bought a new ECU and not contact me. 99.9% of all faults I've had with these chips are the installation of the chip holders/sockets. So...a fault could have appeared from a dodgy holder install. If you see him, tell to message me and get the chip back to me and I'll sort him out with a fresh one if it's faulty. I'll fire him back a spare holder if he wants to install it in the new ECU.
