Not really. But on a 5th gen, unless you're fitting a tunable ecu and getting it set up on a rolling road, this + the skunk cams you've also asked about won't do anything good. In fact, they might even see you down on torque/power etc, because the ecu won't be mapped for them at all.
Unless any of the 5th gen experts say otherwise of course!
4th gens can get away with it (but not realise anything like the full benefits) with a nuc/spoon shipped ecu. That isn't an option on 5th gens though.
