Hi guys i may be selling my h22a8 engine out of my x reg prelude 2.2 vtec vti.

Engine is on 128k and has been maintained well. I was going to build the engine up as i have been told they have crazy potential due to the structure of the engine but after researching more i have come to realise that its a long and expensive road to get the engine up to 300+ bhp which is what i wanted.

So i am considering selling it. Posting this to gauge interest and to see if anyone is interested.

Please pm me if you are interested and give an indication of how much you would pay and we can take it from there.

I also have two front black leather type s seats for sale along with skunk2 adjustable sleeve coilovers if anyone is interested.

Many thanks guys.

Yes, n/a builds are not cheap to get over that horse power.

Why are you selling the engine separately to the car though? Why not just sell the car complete? Far less hassle and worth more?

This. ^^

If you sell your engine with the Prelude then you'll get more for it as it's a H22A8 (197bhp) manual car plus you'll be saving a Prelude too..

Yes i understand the point about selling the car as whole but i actually have another 5g lude and will be using the body/shell as a donor car when things start falling apart on the one im driving.

Also been told h22a8s can fetch decent money so trying to raise cash from it.

At the moment i'd Rather raise cash then spend it as the build i was going to do would have cost 5k+ and circumstances dont allow me to spend that much right now
:(

Ludebob pm me i am open to offers.

How much would you be looking for the engine
As I'm thinking of upgrading my 2.0 but I need too look into it further as i do not know what else i need to upgrade on the car with reference to gearbox etc
Ie can you use 2.0 gearbox with h22a8 engine. I also will need to update brakes + changeover from 4 stud to 5 stud wheels
It might be easier to sell car as is and buy a vti if I can find a good one that needs nothing done to it as I have spent a lot on current car so far

Andy, you don't need to change to 5 stud wheels. Just fit 4g vtec discs/calipers/carriers (they're same 4 stud as your 2.0 but the bigger 282mm size)

And fair do's lawman, didn't know you also had another one.

Thanks wurly

What about gearbox would get away with using current Manuel gearbox as my car has only done 65000 miles or do I need the gearbox that is supplied with the h22a8 engine
