Sorry for the poor quality. As you can see everything moves freely. Bores are clean. Pistons are a bit carbon'd up but in good condition.

Guy says it was serviced every year an I have no reason to doubt him. Unfortunately that's only receipts that where giving along with clutch, belts and tyres. All at great expense.
After stripping engine down with vanzep I strongly believe someone intentionally cut the belt and broke the cam pulley with a hammer. Why I honestly don't know and don't want to speculate.

Yes it is odd - i was expecting to see some tell tale sign of failure but i cant see anything other than the belt is off and cam pulley was damaged. Ive cleaned the head up a bit and had a quick look - it also looks fine albeit a fair bit of carbon build up on the valves...
