When I ordered my Greddy lip (long time ago). It came and I didn't get charged instantly, but then after 2 weeks I got a letter saying I had to pay. Not 100% sure but I would guess that you might get charged. :(

You should get charged yes. 90% of the time you will, just sometimes customs let some slip through (whether it's by accident or laziness I don't know) I used to buy a lot of car parts from the States and 50% of them used to slip through, but things seem to be a lot tighter these days. Don't know if they favour business sales over private sales either.

For car parts, generally expect to pay (or at least budget to pay) an extra 20% or so, plus about £8 for admin depending on the company

And different companies will invoice you at different times. For instance Royal Mail and USPS will invoice you before delivery and you'll have to pay it before they realise the goods. Whereas Fed-Ex will lead you into a false sense of security and let you think you got away without paying, but then sting you for it up to a month afterwards.

I've only ever had Fed-Ex deliver one thing to me from the States before and I just paid it. I imagine they wouldn't hesitate in threatening court action if you didn't pay before you ask ;-)

£15 threshold on imports.

Anything over that is subject to 20% vat and a RM handling charge (£8 i think)

I know that because my gearknob was 60p over £15, and i got charged £11.
