BB8??????

Hi guys, i'm a wee bit confused here but I've been repairing my 5G 97 Lude VTi after buying it as a cat c, I removed the vin plate from the damaged panel and fired it to on the new one and couldn't help but notice that it says its a BB8,yet it has the H22A5 engine fitted and it has 4WS ?????

Looking at wiki my lude should b a BB6 with 2WS that and the BB8 has the 200hp H22A8 fitted im so confused at the moment

Am I right or wrong here or am I missing something????????

Your confused, you contradicted yourself in that post You said it has an a5 and 4Ws then you seem to think its a 2ws BB6..
A UKDM VTI is a BB8. 4ws is BB8 chassis, h22a5 up to 99 and h22a8 from 99+.
The only BB6 Ludes you will find in the UK are imported. And ONLY 2Ws.

You have H22a5 (185bhp) - 4WS - BB8

BB6 is the chassis without the 4WS (2WS)

Check up on Wikipedia Ratty and maybe you will see where my confusion has set in ? It says 2.2 Vti H22A5 (97-99) 2WS BB6 and 2.2 VTi H22A8 (99-01) 4WS BB8 both EURDM it say's nothing about a 2.2VTi H22A5 with a BB8 Chassis, im a Lude noob m8

That chart is correct. Look closely and you will see the H22a5 and h22a8 are in 1 box not 2. Applied to both the BB6 and BB8.. But the UK never got a BB6 but mainland europe did.
They put UKDM into the europe catagory but UKDM got different stuff to the rest of europe.

If it has 4WS and it UK spec its a BB8 chassis. a5 engines are Pre 99. a8 engines are post 99.
ALL Uk spec VTEC 5th Gens are BB8 chassis.

was startin to think maybe I had summit unique

,its defo a BB8 according to VIN plate thanks for the info good buddy, perhaps maybe next i'll read it more closely before I ask

If you were looking at the Prelude Wikipedia page no wonder it got you confused. The table is not very well set out.

It's known as Liepedia for a good reason.

Like the Hitchhiker's guide, it's handy yet unreliable.

BB8 is what we got over here; A5 (latterly A8) H22s and the brilliant 4WS system included.

Yeah completely pickled by brain cause it has no mension of a BB8 A5 ,that and it makes the table out as it being 1 or the other
