I believe driveshafts are the same lenght. it's only outer cv joint different. Vgen hubs are thinner then IVgens and U will be unable to tight in this big nut . That's why U need spacer. I try to make a picture so U guys will see what I'm talking about.

That's exactly what I ment, and is this true? just ordering a set of "new" 5 bolt hubs with ABS sensors would give an plug and p(r/l)ay scenerioNafemanNathan wrote:I think that's why Fons was asking whether he'd have the spacing issue if he converted to 5 bolt Rob... Because you'd think his driveshafts would already be the correct length for a 5 bolt conversion and wouldn't require the spacer

Finally today I have changed my driveshafts as one of inner cv joints failed long time ago. And because I bought 5th gen ones I could compare them with my 4th gens. And I have to say I was wrong. The difference which I have mentioned before in this thread is not everything. I found that the seal which is on outer CV joint is smaller in 4th gen. I found lots of water and some rust in wheel bearings. This means we cannot use 4th gen driveshafts with 5th gen hubs, or we can use them but under one condition - we will install 5th gen outher CV joints.
