Yeh, maybe it previously had a 35mm one squeezed in there. It would be a challenge to force one in, but seeing as some of the ones I ordered were 35mm when advertised as 33mm someone might have forced one in not knowing it was the wrong one.
@yorke58 if you hold your new loose one and your old one back to back there is a noticeable difference between the 35mm and 33mm so you'll be able to tell.
Congratulations to vtecmec for winning May/June's Lude Of The Month, with his DIY Turbo BB1 build.

Rear upper control ball joints 5th gen
stinkypaul, I thrown away the old joints ages ago thinking id have no issue with new ones. mistake! I've used a lower quality band I think. I'm off to get better quality ones for the top ball joints and the lower ones. Not happy with the quality and a few lads on here have indicated ebay one are bad!!!
Any chance did u measure the hole diameter on the arm my hole diameter is 33.3 and my ball joint is 33.3 so I'm leaning towards that 35mm have been forced in and enlarged the hole.

I have the other side to do, but it probably won't be for a few weeks.
I know it's not the same but I have a front wishbone without a ball joint + a new 35mm balljoint, so I measured them. Both seem to be spot on 35mm and the fit is tight and will definitely need some force to press in.
Maybe you just have a bad ball joint

Yeah its both sides. I think its the arms themselves. I think you were right when you said 35mm might have been forced in. It took some tonnage to get them out! I've just found some doorman full arms from US for 130 quid.
