Black or satin black is out. I sprayed my old civic wheels that colour and they did look cheap. Im tempted to go a heavy flake metallic silver or bronze tbh.

I like gunmetal on most colour cars, but don't think it suits black. It may be a bit boring, but I'd go for bronze.

i will be getting the paint tomorrow and it will be a surprise, even to me, as ive not decided yet.

this is how i intend to paint them. please advise if incorrect.

1 shot blast
2 wipe over with acetone to remove dust/grease if any.
3 prime
4 bake in oven for 15 mins
5 top colour
6 bake 15 mins
7 another top coat
8 bake 15 mins
8 lacquer
9 bake 30 mins
10 out of oven to rest

is acetone ok to use for the de-grease.
do i need to key the primer and top layers between coats?

@RattyMcClelland i think your the best to advise?

Sorry to hijack the thread but Ive just picked up a set of 16" Accord speedline alloys for my 5th which is nordic silver, and Im gona do the same but without the apparent skill of Honda_Hardy lol. Been thinkin about anthrasite but not sure it will work with the silver? anyone got suggestions... oh and anyone know the right tyre size for these wheels? :D

Don't use acetone. It leaves traces. Use a degreaser. If using an oven don't get the wheel hotter than 60 degrees. Only sans back the primer if you need to.
