Good question....

Seriously i would contact Buddyclub and ask them to confirm if these are genuine parts - you never know they might send you some free replacement parts if they are-would be good to know either way.

if this are pro spec racing suspensions then they are for track and not for road. they are made from light materials to keep then light, but they are not as strong as OEM shocks.

i seen damaged top hat on teins and other suspensions as well, this not just buddy club suspensions who suffer from this

As Ste says, the adjustable ride height was only to the spring section, not the leg/perch area. Kat's car was slammed to the max and so those springs load must have been harsh. May have added to the broken strut, but the corrosion was bad. The top mounts didn't appear to have any protection to the aluminium, no anodised, painted or powder coated finish at all. One of the rear legs, even with anodising had also started to crumble away, right where the bolt hole through to the LCA is.

I can't believe these are copies, otherwise we would have seen a few more buddy club suspensions on JDM ludes surely. The fact they are so rare because of the high price also suggests they were'nt copied IMO.

I'm even more shocked that Phil wants the springs! :o

Definitely worthy of an email Kat - they were dangerous. Like the others say, you may get something out of it.

So what you're saying is that to lower the car you had to increase the preload on the springs?!

That is the most backwards way of doing things ever!!

Exactly!

Maybe the preload was supposed to be left as they come out of the box and they weren't adjustable? May have caused the shock parts themselves to go??? But then why make a whole shock leg with thread on it? :?
