to pass an mot the tread of the tyre has to be inside the wheel arch. If you run a wide tyre on some of these wide rims you would have to run silly camber to do that. stretching the tyres sorts the problem.

But yeh i think its a style thing also. looks rubbish in my opinion

Drifters tend to run streched tyres, they can then run nice wide wheels that fill the bolt on arches, but not have to fork out for the more expensive wider tyres

When they only last a few laps from new you can see why lol

i will be running stretched tyres very shortly on the civic, 15x8 et10 wheels with 195/45/15 tyres...

as in tomorrow lol
