4G 5 lug conversion?

Am I right in thinking that the easiest way to get 5 stud on the 4G is to swap the knuckles from a 2WS 5G? Is there any compatability issues with CV joints, drive shafts, ABS rings etc.....?

Any info would be great.

Think there are differences between the rear ARB setup if you swap the knuckles. It might just be as simple as using a 5g rear ARB drop link, i'm not sure.

PAW will prob know off the top of their head

I removed it as the 5 lug part of it was crap. Having a wee read the only issue I can see so far is:
The dimensions and geometry of the 5th generation knuckles means that the axle extends farther through the knuckle than it does on the stock 4th generation knuckle. As a consequence, the axle nut will run out of threads just before fully seating on the hub face. If you drive the car without correcting this problem, you will eat through wheel bearings pretty quickly

Good find, even a post from PUK in there lol

And you space out the nut with washers as it said in that guide (Or swap to 5g CV joints)

Best to use the 5g driveshafts as you will need to space them with washers else! This relates to the bearing problem u just mentioned.

From what I've seen the best way on rear is just to fit the 5stud bearing straight swap. I haven't tryed it and nor do I have anything solid to prove it, but it's what I want to try when I find the bits.

Also the most cost effective way to do it is buy a cheap 5g on eBay, swap all the needed bits and sell it again! How many ppl wud notice ;-)

That is the point I was going to bring up. I hadn't actually read through the how-to (as I don't intend on doing it and it was bloody long lol), but I was going to mention this fact, that 4th and 5th gen driveshafts are fractionally different lengths too, which will have an effect and did it mention this? I guess that answers my question then ;-)

Would 5G driveshafts actually fit? Wouldnt the lower arm stop it from fitting?
