Wheels pre-fitting protocol?

Post by macky_6 » Wed Mar 21, 2012 8:32 pm

Hey all,

I have two sets of wheels which i am about to get fitted. (different cars :D )

One set has been freshly painted/lacquered, the other set freshly powder coated.

The question is, is there anything i should be doing with regards to protecting them before fitting, for example waxing or similar?

What do you guys do in this situation?

Kind regards :D

Yes id use a wheel wax sealer or something. BH Autobalm of a strong thicker sealer.
Oh and make sure the lacquer is fully cured. Nothing worse than soft lacquer on the car. 2 hours at 60degrees on heatlamps isnt always enought to cure lacquer on wheels due to the wheels metal mass.
