Lower ball joint boots

Post by ADS1 » Sat Mar 31, 2012 9:56 pm

Hi guys.
I have just had my drive shafts off, to replace rubber boots, and also transmission oil seals.
Before dismantling i noticed that my lower ball joint boots are split.
I can get the boots easy enough, but notice in the manual a special tool is needed to fit the circlips during installation. Has anyone ever fitted these, and if so did they manage it without the special tool?
Cheers.
Tony.
