Sticking Handbrake Light

Hi guys,

I've spent ages trawling dozens of posts trying to find a solution to a problem I have with my new 5th Gen.

Lots of questions asked but couldn't find threads that had a definite solution

I've got a sticky handbrake light that stays on for a short while after I have applied pressure to the brake pedal. It only seems to come on once the pedal has travelled about half way down. Oddly, the light stays on for a minute or so in the morning after I first start the car. After driving a few miles, the light only stays on for 2-3 seconds after applying the brakes.

I'm at a bit of a loss....PUK doesn't have a working search function anymore and I couldn't find a solution on Prelude Power either.

Any ideas?

Many thanks in advance for your help.
Justin

Are your brake pads due to be changed and have you checked your brake fluid level? My handbrake light was acting up too. Turned out to be low on brake fluid due to the pads needing to be changed. My opinion on it anyway if it helps :)

Thanks for the quick reply.

I have checked the fluid which is fine, but not the pads. Will do it this weekend.

I think there is a sensor under the centre console behind the handbrake? Someone would have to confirm though.

check the rear light lenses if you have water in them the reason it only happens in the morning is that you have damp air and water in your lense when it dries out after driving and using the brakes drying out the connection
