Polybushing 5th Gen Prelude will 4th Gen fit?
Polybushing 5th Gen Prelude will 4th Gen fit?
Hi guys,
I need to replace the front tie bar bushes on my 5th gen and after being out in Nitin's polybushed up handling weapon of a type s, I figured that I may as well go polyurethane for the bush and while I am at it, I may as well poly bush up as much of the front end as I can afford.
So couple of questions, first the SuperFlex bushes are only listed for 4th Gen, I'm fairly sure that the majority of the bushes are the same, but has anyone done this on a 5th gen?
The bush I 100% need is this one:
http://www.superflex.co.uk/proddetail.p ... F192-2129K
But I was thinking of fitting these, if they will go on the 5th gen:
http://www.superflex.co.uk/proddetail.p ... 92-2061KSS
http://www.superflex.co.uk/proddetail.p ... F192-2131K
http://www.superflex.co.uk/proddetail.p ... F192-0265K
http://www.superflex.co.uk/proddetail.p ... 92-0904-8K
This set is looking a little pricey, so does anyone have any idea what the best 'bang-for-buck' areas that should be polybushed first is so I can maybe just focus there for the moment...

is this for a type s?
if so you want the Type SH kit, non SH kit for 2ws
and think 4ws uses a mix of the 4th and 5th gen kits not 100%

Those seem pricey compared to the ES bits IMO. For example I got the Energy Suspension graphite impregnated tie bar (radius rod in English ) bushes and ARB drop link bushes from the US for £36 delivered.
I think the US 5G Base is the same as the 92-96 Prelude.
Any reason to do just the front? The rear would be all over the place in comparison

Yeah as Nitin said this is for my SIR with 4ws, I went out in his Type S and was very impressed with the feel. Nitin you'll be interested to know I took my car out down that same 'lane' where we went and your S is in a different league to my SIR!.....
Just looking at the front at the moment because the OEM front tie bar is knackerd so looking at what I could replace while I change that. I'd see how the front goes and then look at doing the back..

I totalled the cost of SuperFlex bushes you listed and It came to £161.25 The ES equivalents are £58.88 ($95.34) before delivery. Delivery from the US would be around $30 I would think.
Radius rod set - http://www.energysuspensionparts.com/pr ... prod=81202
Upper arms - http://www.energysuspensionparts.com/pr ... od=16.3106
Lower arms - http://www.energysuspensionparts.com/pr ... od=16.8106
ARB - http://www.energysuspensionparts.com/pr ... od=16.5123
On top of the bits you have listed its possible to replace the coil isolators and bumpstops in your coilovers.
Or you can buy the Master kit for $161 (£99.50) and get both the front an rear done. You'd need the trailing arm kit as well.

That is all very cool indeed, I'm defiantly going to do that, much better value for money.
