Well, I checked the 4ws connectors. The only measurements that are totally out of bounds are the front encoder phases (A and B phases faulty, Z-phase looks about ok for the most part..) BTW, I skipped the measurements for the rear wheels, since it would be too much of a hassle, and the system is turned off anyways..

I have an appointment in a few days at a guy who knows a thing or two about these 4ws systems.. hopefully he will confirm my suspicions and not find anything else ;) Will report back soon

If you wanted to you can jack up the rear and manually turn the rear wheels to test the signal. Be warned! Even though they are jacked up they are kind of difficult to turn by hand :)

So.. the mechanic also said its almost certainly the main sensor behind the steering wheel. The hunt is on :D

Does anyone know how this main sensor looks like?
I have the feeling that this is NOT it:

I only have the low quality pic from the schematic: https://i.imgur.com/nyD8aLt.png

First link is some kind of airbag sensor. Second is your jackpot. Actually looks the same as in service manual. Nothing in there similiar.

I've disconnected and reconnected the sensor while it was still mounted.
Error code changed from 20 to 24, which is FRONT MAIN SENSOR in both cases.
So I think it just confirms the theory..

Still searching BTW

I have one, didn't know I had it. It's captive to the stalk assembly bit.
