5th gen suspension bushes rebuild kit?

Post by Anzezaf » Thu Aug 23, 2018 6:33 pm

I'm sick of getting weird creaks and clunks over all the bumps in the streets.

Does anyone know of an affordable kit that covers all/a majority the rubber bushings? It has to be somewhere from Europe, don't wanna pay import taxes from the US..

I'd probably only need bushes for the rear upper control arms, but if I can get a whole kit for a good price, I'd rather take it.

I ordered a set from strongflex (EU/Poland) The 4th gen kit is most of them, or you can buy them individually.

Yellow is hard

Red is soft like OEM

the 4th gen kit shows the front upper wishbones having the same connection as the rear - but i found this was not true. They do not seem to list a front upper wishbone bush for the 5th gen. Perhaps it is the same as some other honda model however...

There's no kit for oem style rubber bushes that I'm aware of.
You can get some of them aftermarket ok (such as top arm bushes) but some are Honda only.

The only other alternative is polybush, which you can get aftermarket kits for - as others have suggested above.

Options are strongflex and Energy Suspension.
You can get the Energy Suspension kits on ebay/H-Tune/Tegiwa
There are fitting guides/lists of which bits you need for the ES kits in the wiki section of the forum, IIRC.

Be aware that polybushes aren't maintenance free like OEM rubber ones are - you need to re-grease them periodically.

i have only fitted the front radius rod bushes, and the rear upper wishbone ones.

Can't say i've noticed much difference, but there were fitted at the same time as the tein coilovers so its hard to differentiate.

The yellow ones are very hard for sure, hardly deforming at all. I suspect the red ones are a better compromise.

I don't know when ill get round to fitting the rest.

One of those jobs I've been putting off for years...

Judging but what I saw on vanzep's thread I'd have a serious think before choosing Energy Suspension bushes:

Was a bit surprised at how bad the es poly bushes had worn in the front upper wishbones
I know theyve been in there for 5 years but they were still greased up but the poly bush itself had worn to the point the metal collars fell out
so thats front arb drop link bushes, front upper wishbone bushes and rear arb mounting bushes that have gone so far......
pic says it all.... :puke: :puke:

also had some lift in one of the rear wheel bearings so that was also replaced.

car feels nice and tight now :)
