Weights : 5th or 4th Gen what are you down to?

Post by louckie » Tue Nov 20, 2018 6:09 pm

Just posting out of curiosity

The weight of a standard 4ws 5th gen wouldn’t go a miss either. I.e someone’s actually put in on a weigh bridge.

Went and collected a 2ws subframe off Si_import the other day and got taking about the weights

I believe he’s going to go to the weigh bridge next week so will be interesting to see

I’m currently at

A/C delete including bracket
Zero interior
Plastic front windows with door skin cut out
Sun roof delete with plastic bung
One single Corbeau seat and harness
Enkie evo wheels ( not the lightest but good fitment)

To do

Dash out
Heater box removed
2WS conversion
ABS delete
Possible plastic rear window and 1/4 windows
Maybe loop the steering rack ???
Cut bonnet skin and remove bonnet latch
Cut rear boot skin and install more round aero catch things

I seem to remember reading somewhere (I think it was preludepower) that removing all "extras" including sunroof, ac, ps...etc you could save around 150kg. If you started cutting stuff up you could drop more. Take this with a pinch of salt though.

No carbon yet and sunroof is still in. Off the top of my head here is everything that I can think of that will have contributed.

AC removed including interior stuff
Cruise control removed
Resonator box removed
Interior removed - dash, door cards and roof liner remain
Seat belts removed - 2 x 6pt harnesses in
Tar sound deadening crap all removed from the floor
2 x Motodrive bucket seats replace heated seats
Momo steering wheel
No airbags
2WS conversion
Fujitsubo manifold, decat, ss exhaust with Mugen twin loop
Coilovers
16" Rota torques

Additional weight will be front and rear strut braces, k brace in the back for harnesses.

Also battery is in the boot. If you are intereated I have the corner weights.

LF - 373
RF - 375.5
LR - 223.5
RR - 221.5
