wheel alignment question
I booked my 4th gen in for a wheel alignment and also asked that they change the front tyres as the ones on the car have some bad wear on the outer shoulders. so thinking as logically as i could i asked for them to change the tyres and then carry out the alignment only to be told they would do the alignment and then put the replacement tyres on the front. The tyres that are going on are mildy worn and im supplying them but obviously a lot less worn than the ones coming off the car.
Last time i went there i left them the 4ws locking pin and the excerpts from the manual. Again maybe im being a bit ocd but they were adjusting or tightening up the rear lcas with the engine running and the pin in place. Im sure i read you dont do this and must have the engine off when doing any adjustment at the rear as to avoid any damage to the 4ws steering box.
I know im a bit ocd about the lude and may be overthinking things a bit but id like to hear other peoples opinion on what they think...so let me know

wheel alignment question
Im heading there tomorrow will go with locking pin and the manual excerpt for 4ws alignment - definately going to state there is to be no adjustment done at the rear with engine on and pin in place - its must be engine off
They have a good rep and cost is reasonable so hopefully they will do as i ask....i do seem to have a problem getting stuff done when i take parts and instructions in -i think most garages like to diagnose the problem and tell the customer whats needed not the other way round

wheel alignment question
running on from this allignment question, i had my wheels all alligned MANY years ago and i dont think i had a 4WS locking pin at that point - do you need one to do the job? or is that just for the 4WS bit?
also, ive recently installed new coilovers and i'd like to get them properly set up - i was going to let them settle in for a few weeks and then have it done, this correct? also, how much of the wheels can be set up for a more "fast road" setup without having any aftermarket adjustable arms etc?

wheel alignment question
You only need the pin if you have 4WS. You cannot realistically align the front wheels without doing the rears too. So if you have 4WS, you cannot reliably align the wheels without a pin.
Yes, I'd let them settle a bit too. You have a bit of camber adjustment on the stock setup, though lowering anything beyond 20mm will mean you really want to adjust beyond it limits. Essentially if you want to 'properly' setup a lowered lude, you'll need aftermarket chamber adjusters.

wheel alignment question
The front has no stock adjustment for the camber at all, the rear has a limited amount on the lower arm bolts.
I've just fitted tein super streets last week to mine, decided to keep the ride height relatively high to avoid any camber issues.

wheel alignment question
ok so at Demon Tweeks for the tracking, asked about a "fast road setup" but they require tried and tested specs, does anyone here have this that i could use thats not harsh for the road but a happy medium between road & track?
They said they could do a track setup but it would drive like a dog on the road and i dont want that
