I messaged the guy on Instagram that make the kit, and he uses the 324mm 350Z discs, just said they need adapting, I would go for this setup, but I run 16" wheels on my 4th gen and prefer the ride and think it handles better, I think one day I'll just fork out for an off the shelf kit one day.
Awesome man - didnt think of doing that option.

Nice. I will do a little write up of all the things I have collected soon, with discs, pads and etc.

I do believe you can piece together a set that will work with your 16''. You can actually buy Wilwood 4/6 piston calipers for a decent price on eBay - you just have to find an adapter or something to make it fit.
6 piston:

4 piston:

And they are both able to work with up to 14 inch rotors.

I am beginning to think of the consequences on the actual performance of the car - HP wise.
Going from a 282/23 to 324/30 mm rotor will surely have a pretty large impact on actual power, wont it?

I guess you do have a larger mass to spin up, much like some of the cheap alloys people buy that weigh a ton, that is why light wheels make a huge difference, if you have a two piece docs with aluminium bell, that will help, and remember the alloy calipers help reduce unsprung weight too, as my legend calipers are so heavy!

I did have the old aem bracket and big disc kit, but I felt it ruined the balance of the brakes, and the rears were then under powered, but the front gave in and they cracked as they were drilled.

I have seen the wildwoods before, and they use them loads in the states on builds, but it's just having a bracket for them, I have always thought the Preludes Achilles heel are the brakes.

Look forward to a write up

True - Maybe it will even out. I sold my old JR 18'' rim, that weighed in ish 21kg pr rim.
- I'll be getting the new Work Emotion ZR10, 17''. That will complement the added weight from the Rotor. And maybe the Aluminium Caliper from the Legend will even out or reduce the weight from my old 2 piston Legend caliper.

I'm getting only grooved disc's as well. I dont want them to crack up.
Any ideas as to how to get the rear brakes up to date with the new front setup?

Unsprung weight is overrated.
I went from 19kg 20" wheels to 9.9kg 20" wheels before tyre weight on my van and the ride handling was actually worse and Performance difference was unnoticeable. Never noticed a difference on the Prelude either. Tyre weight does make a difference though by compared to contact patch I wouldnt worry.

However further looking into this

The Acura big brake upgrade is as follows.

- Acura RL brake calipers. Same as the late Honda Legend. No where to get them in the UK so import from America only.
- Fatfour customs caliper braker kit
- 350z front brake rotors which are 324x28/30mm (5x114.3). (fatfourcustoms sell redrilled 4x114.3 for 4th gens)

And your chosen brake pad which the legend calipers shares with many OEM applications like Mitsubishi evo etc.

I might be trying the Spoon CL7 calipers. CL7 owners use CL1/ATR brakes as a bolt on upgrade and so do Preluders.
The CL7 spoon calipers will fit with a 1.5 or 1.6mm spacer between the bracket and caliper to use on the 300mmx28mm atr discs.

I'm using the ATR setup at the moment. Nothing wrong with the performance but the calipers just look like liquid ass. Very dull and boring. Need more bling behind the wheels.
So the debate is weather the £1200 for spoon calipers qre worth it vs the acura brake upgrade at around £800 after import vat on used 2nd hand acura calipers and then having to shave the acura logo off and repaint the calipers. I would like more initial bite that the atr brakes dont offer.

If you do want them, give me a few days to get to my lock up and I'll take some pictures.

They're off a legend so no need to shave anything ;)

Aww, came in too late.

That would have been my preference as well.
I bought a set of Acura RL calipers, since I couldnt find any KB1 calipers for decent prices anywhere close...

Oh well, I will just have to dremel off the "acura" logo and the I'll be good.
