How much realistically can be lost from a 4ws 5th gen for track use ?
All creature comforts can go etc how much saving can realistically be achieved ?

80-120kg depending on how how much cash you have to replace heavy stuff with...


2ws for a start. carbon bonnet, carbon seat etc etc

4th gen front end conversion so you get rid of those head lights, must be 650kg in each of those!

drop a/c, that is massively heavy! sound deadening, again there's ALOT of weight in that!

I wanted to say that. Been beaten to it!

I've started stripping the weight out of my 5g but it's a DD so want to leave a few things in.

2ws will be going on next weekend, rear speakers are out, boot is completely stripped out, lighter wheels (completely by chance), lighter wheel nuts. The sun roof, bootlid & bonnet will be going once I've made CF replacements. Race battery will be going in next pay day.

You can save around 60kgs for the 2ws, sun roof & cruise control (altho the CC doesn't weigh that much apparently). There is probably around 30kgs to come out with all the OEM boot stuff too.

I'm aiming to get mine down to less than 1250kgs which should be doable

You should drop "about" 60kg from a 2WS conversion and ditching the AC. Other than that probably just stripping the interior.

i have a 2ws set up to put on once ive overhauled it and pointers/pics will make it easier
