My CV boot has come loose. Where can I buy metal "cable ties"? My local motorfactors doesnt have any. I would by off ebay but I need them quick.

I might have some from a yet to be attempted exhaust manifold wrap I've not done. Failing that, goto a motor factors and buy a generic stretch CV boot repair kit. There should be one in with it.

Cool. What about B&Q? Do you think they would have something that would be able to do the job? Even as a temporary fix just to get me through Wednesday?

Not sure if they'd have anything other than plastic ones. Could you goto a nearby garage/kwik fit etc and ask them nicely? Might be worth a shot?

I've thought about hose clips in the past, but pretty sure the screw section is too big to fit properly. If they're cheap though, give it a go

Wouldn't the screw section be too weighty as well? I know there won't be too much additional weight and it'll be spinning in a small fixed rotation, but it could throw the balance

I bought a bag of plastic ones from my local motor factor. They work fine.

I have a plastic one already it wont go tight enough.

Nathan - At this point I'd take the lesser of two evils. At them moment my boot keeps popping off and I have alreday lost my CV grease

halfords do metal ones, you could also use the crimp type.
