I always though they were different.

4G left - 53560-SS0-003
4G right - 53540-SS0-003

5G left - 53560-S30-005
5G right - 53540-S30-005

After market shops also show different part numbers.

i think they could still be the same part though  dont the different sections of the part number refer to the model and year of manufacture etc :?:

tramroadmotors wrote:just so as people are aware the rack ends on the early 5th gens appear to be 4th gen not 5th. the difference is the thread on the rack end being a very fine thread on a 5th compared to a coarser thread on the 4th. learnt this the hard way by ordering parts off a registration number that didn't fit and then trying my luck with a set of 4th gen ones when the 5th were wrong.
all sorted now and sorry for the delay alex :sega:

it is rack ends not track rod ends i was referring to mind. the thread on the inner of the rack end is different but the outer was the same thread and length. so unless there is a difference in track on the 4th to the 5th then the track rod end should be the same.
