Tyres...!

Well i need new tyres very soon. i was thinking 225/45/17's BUT WILL THEY FIT?
The alloys they're going on are 7.5inch wide and the offset is 45 or 43 i think..
BUT the other thing to think of... is.. i'm SLAMMED on Tein super street coilovers ;)

SO should I get 225/45/17's or 215/45/17's or what i'm on now.. 215/40/17's???

So what make of tyre should i go for? I really want a good grip all round but not too silly soft to wear out quick.. and only want to spend £400 MAX for 4 tyres.

So who can help...

Matt

*sorry for bringing this up....

225/45 will rub on a 45-40 offset with your slammedness. But only just rub. 215/45 will work fine.
Get yoko ad08 but may be a tad over budget and they do wear down quick. Maybe 10k miles to a front pair with a lot if freaking insane driving..

agree with ratty. 215/45 on those rims is perfect for the look, the wings and performance.

AD08 are weaponised rubber. I have a guy delivers you 4 in that size for 480£ if you need a start contact ;)

I had T1Rs on mine, good in the dry but I found towards the end of their life I was in understeer city, that's probably true of most tyres, but it was more so than I expected.

inb4 ATTS, shh :P

I'm on T1r in that size at the moment haven't really had much time on the road in them yet but were really good in the dry and wet tbh. Got them for £330

The Toyo T1R is a great tyre, but as it's a relatively soft compound it does wear quite quickly.

Look up Falken FK452. This is what I'm running at the moment. It's a very similar tread pattern to the T1R, but a slightly harder compound so will last longer. I'm currently at around 10,000 miles on them and still got 4mm tread, this includes doing several drag days.

uniroyals rainsport look good, goodyears f1's too, love to try the yoko ado8s

another thing is.... rim protectors? what tyres have these now?

Honestly rim protectors dont work. The amount of alloys i refurb and you can see the rim protectors just eaten through. The help but 1.5tones of car onto a kerb, a few mm of rubber sticking out wont help.
