Rear Lower Suspension Arm Ball Joints

Hi Toadster - it could be the ball joint at the bottom of the arm/knuckle you would have to ask the garage. I dont think Honda ever sold the ball joint on its own - you had to buy a whole new assembly - so there wont be a honda part number. There will be something aftermarket that fits. I know you can use a lower ball joint from a Honda Legend on the front of 4th gen....

Here is some info I found:

Info was from a post by Rich at Performance Autoworks:

Not much time so just a quick post

4th and 5th gen front and rear lower ball joints are the same 110% ;)
4th gen front and rear uppers are 33mm ball joints (OEM)
5th gen front uppers are 35mm and rears are 33mm (OEM)

Rear Lower Suspension Arm Ball Joints

Post by toadster » Thu Mar 16, 2023 8:09 pm

Lo All :)
Took Lude to garage to have rear lower ball joints replaced as well as fixing one of My front fogs and also finding out where a slight oil leak is coming from on engine
They fixed the front fog by adding an extra earth wire
Oil leak is from rocker cover gasket , going to get it replaced at next M.O.T
They got in two replacement ball joints but wanted to check against the existing one's.
In the end I didn't get them done for now as they told Me the labour charge is going to be over £400 as so much has to be removed to replace them :?:
Cheers folks ;)

£400 sounds okish as they have to remove the arm/knuckle and press out the old ball joints before pressing in the new ones and then putting it all back together. They have maybe allowed some extra time just in case there are some rusty bolts. ;)

Lo :D
Ta for the reply vanzep
Great to know the price is about right.
I'm just going to keep a check on the ball joint play and replace if they get worse.
Cheers ;)
