Anyone installed 4ws on a non 4ws mk5? If so how?

:shock: ive never heard of anyone doing this, i feel the wiring involved would be a nightmare - the swap of 2ws subframe to 4ws isnt bad its all the electrical side :silent:

I did a 2ws conversion on my 4g once, other than the usual stuff like rear rack and subframe and control unit I think you will need the loom that runs front to rear, loom from control unit to rear steer rack, it may require a different clock spring for 4ws steering angle sensor, im unsure if it ties into the ABS system somehow as well, I think it would be much easier to find a 4ws car/shell to swap everything over.. if 4ws what you want it’s probably more time and financially efficient to just sell your 2ws car and buy a 4ws car.. just my opinion..

Yeah sound like a right mess about. I was wondering as i can get hold of the rear unit quite cheap. Ive just rebuild the car ive got dont fancy starting again.
