Lude Generation

I've got "DOTZ" alloys on my car.

The size on 3 of the tyres is:
215/45/ZR17 91w

One of the tyres is:
215/45/R17 87v

Is that ok?

I'm not too clued up on tyres so need to know what the correct speed rating is needed???

Also, I've been offered some Evo 8 wheels (pics to follow).

They have 235/45/17 on them.

Is that gona fit under the arches?

Would I be able to put 225/45/17 on them?

Please help me on this Lude ppl!!!

not sure about the evo wheels, but your current tyres on the dotz will be fine, the last numbers are the speed rating and both of those numbers are fine for the sort of speeds we do in our Ludes, all my tyres are 87W's

What does the "ZR" & "R" mean though?

You will need spigot rings as the Evo centre bore is larger.
Also doubt you'll be able to use the OEM wheel nuts.
Evo Enkeis are 17x8 and +38 offset so depending on how low you are it might prove interesting, someone else might have a view on that.

Your current tyre sizes are fine IMO. It's what a lot of people use on here I think. Dunno about speed rating though, no point replacing the odd one to match, just do all of them or a pair at a time at least. You'll have tyres all worn differently otherwise.

Spigot rings??? What's that?
The suspension is standard at the moment. Sooooo confused

the R means its a radial tyre, if there is no letter then its a cross ply tyre. and scrap my last comment 87V is the load 'and' speed rating '87' is load and 'V' is speed

ZR is also to do with the speed rating aparently. means it good for up to 149mph.

Nah not those Evo wheels, getting them from a mate

Spigot rings are little plastic rings that you fit inside the the wheel to match the centre bores if they are different to your cars centre.

you are fine with those the only letters you dont want to see are s or t
s rated tyres are for up to 118 mph and t rated are upto 127mph are for small slower cars.
r and v and w are all rated well enough for ludes
